Basic Regulation to Export from Indonesia in 2023

Shipping of products from Indonesia to different countries typically start with an agreement in the contract between the exporter and importer. When exporting products there are several payment method, including using letters of Credit (L/C) or other forms of credit, according to the contract in place at the beginning. The process of exporting products overseas is an extremely complex and difficult process however it can profitable for companies to increase their market share and enter new markets.

One of the aspects that must be taken into consideration by business owners or entrepreneurs before sending out goods is the quality of documents that comply with rules when exporting products abroad. Based on the regulations for exports set by the Ministry of Home Affairs in Indonesia the prerequisites for exporting are:

1. A company needs to be registered with legality , in the form of CV (Commanditaire Vennotchap), PT (limited company), Persero, Perum and so on.

2. You must have an NPWP (Taxpayer ID Number)

3. Do you have any of the permit granted by the government like:

• SIUP (Company Business License)
• Industrial permits from Department of Industry
• Business licenses that permits domestic investments (PMDN) as well as foreign investments (PMA) granted from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM)
• Have an export identification number (APE)

Additionally, exporters are divided into two groups, which are manufacturing exporters as well as non-manufacturing exporters.
